Amazing $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

After a brief run earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned for a limited time available until Dec. 2. Described as an extensive collection of mapping tools created by a specialized software company over the years, the complete package carries a value of over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

The Main Attraction

The standout feature is certainly permanent access for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard mapping application that can be used to generate various types including fantasy overworld maps, smaller regional maps, city maps, and most notably, tactical combat environments.

Package Levels

Basic Package

The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Castle Source Maps, Urban Source Maps. This one's only for existing CC3+ users, but it does offer new fantasy symbol styles for overworld maps, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens for use in virtual tabletops, over twenty-five aerial castle designs including hundreds of map markers, eight fully mapped cities, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Intermediate Package

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 is where things get more interesting through inclusion of a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. Cartographer's Annual is the annual collection from the company's ongoing subscription program which includes a variety CC3+ add-ons like map collections and additional utilities. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from all sides. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

Every volume of Cartographer's Annual come with this bundle, plus numerous other resource and asset packs that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on classic fantasy realm creation: battle maps, dungeons, urban centers, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. You can even design character portraits. For $30 as opposed to $15, the complete collection offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly more advantageous for cartography beginners considering you even get the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The sole limitation is that while you can redeem the deal on any platform, the software is only usable with Windows systems.

As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale supports charitable organizations. For this one, the beneficiary is Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief.
